Wash and soak the split peas dhal for 2 hours.
Meanwhile clean, wash and chop the spinach set aside till needed.
Bring three cups of water to a boil and add the saoked split peas.
Bring it to the boil and stirwell.
Lower the heat and simmer the dhal till it is cooked. To tesstif it is cooked, crush a dhal. If it mashes, it is cooked.
Once the dhal is cooked ( approximately 30-35 minutes), add teh chopped psinach, red chili flakes and salt
Stir them, simmer, while they are cooking for another 5 minutes.
Remove from heat and the dhal is ready to serve.
