green chilli

Instructions
Wash and pat dry the star gooseberry.
Boil the water and as it cools add the salt and set it aside to cool completely, dissolving the salt.
Add the goosberries into the clean glass bottle.
Add the slit green chillies.
Pour the brine over it so the berries are covered.
Cover and leave it to soak for a couple of days shaking the bottle occasionally.
The pickle is then ready to be used.
Notes
You can add a tsp of vinegar to the brine to ensure the pickle stays good on the shelf. This is totally optional.
