Unicorn colour changing pasta

Ingredients
  

for the colouring agent

  • 2 cups Cabbage ( red cabbage- to extract the dye)
  • 4 cups drinking water
  • 1/2 tsp salt

for pasta

  • 2 fist spaghetti ( pasta for two people)

the taste factors

  • 1/4 cup olive oil ( the flavor of the olive oil matters
  • 4-5 cloves garlic crushed
  • 1 tbsp parsley
  • 3-5 tbsp Parmesan cheese ( grated)

Instructions
 

  • Shred the red cabbage and set aside
    cabbage
  • Bring the water to a boil and add the shredded the cabbage
  • Bring this to a rolling boil and the colour from the purple cabbage will leach into the pasta and make it quite deep purple- blue
  • remove the cabbage bits and add salt to the liquid.
  • As it boils add the spaghetti and cook till aldente
  • Heat a pan and add the olive oil
  • Add the crushed garlic and quickly toss in the cooked pasta in the oil.
  • Toss in the parmesan and the parsley and serve with lemon wedges.
  • Before you eat, squeeze the lemon n the pasta and see them change to a beautiful deep pink colour.
