Tandoori cabbage steak

Equipment

  • Grill.
  • mixing bowls and spoons.

Ingredients
  

  • 1 medium Cabbage red or green

For the tandoori marinade

  • 1 cup yogurt
  • 2 tbsp tandoori masala
  • 1 tsp garam masala
  • 1 tsp coriander powder
  • 1/2 tsp fennel powder
  • 1/2 tsp ginger powder
  • 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
  • salt to taste
  • 2 tbsp kasuri methi

For grilling

  • 2-3 tbsp cooking oil any high heat neutral oil.

Instructions
 

  • Prepare and keep the grill heated up.
  • Into a mixing bowl add the ingredients for tandoori paste.
  • Mix well and set aside
  • Clean and slice one inch thick slices from the whole cabbage head.
  • Coat the cabbage slices on both sides with the tandoori paste
  • Brush the hot grill with oil
  • Place the cabbage steak on it.
  • Spray a bit of oil on the top.
  • Cover and let this steam for about 7 minutes.
  • Open and grill till the charred top appears.
  • Carefully remove ( can fall apart easily) onto a serving plate.
  • Slice and enjoy with green chutney.
