Have you taken a sip of this deliciously creamy mint choco chip avocado smoothie yet? Don’t wait, get your act together, you have a big day ahead.
With the extended lockdown, the only thing I see developing actively is my creativity in tasty milkshakes and smoothies. We seem to be needing one or a couple of them per day than ever before. I guess the kids are bored and are looking for ways and means to connect and keep their minds active too!! Fair enough, they are doing ok for now.
Mint choco-chip combo
I have been dreaming about this combo the whole night! In fact, it is one of my favourite summer ice cream combos. The cool freshness of the mint and the crunchy dark choco-chip is certainly one I don’t mind dreaming of.
Hide spinach in an avo smoothie
The moment you add avocados to the smoothie, you can add a handful of spinach. This doubles up when you have mint too. The mint and the avo heighten take over the flavour and smoothness that you will never know there is spinach in the combo.
I know… it is a small bit of progress towards that full-fledged spinach smoothie, starting from the mango spinach soda!!
Adding to the creaminess
Keeping the creamy milk factor going in this mint choco chip avocado smoothie to match up to the ice cream flavours, we have added milk. If you prefer, plant milk, like oat, cashew or almonds work perfectly.
Sweetened without sugar
There are two ways to add sweetness to this smoothie. For the adults, I add stevia as the avocado masks the aftertaste of stevia well and for kids, Medjool Dates work perfectly.
Mint choco chip avocado smoothie.
- 1 medium avocado
- 1 cup Spinach
- 2-3 Dates
- 3 sprigs mint leaves
- 1 cup full cream milk / plant based milks
- 0.5 cup ice cubes
- 1 tsp chocolate chips
- Slice the avocado into half and remove the seed.
- Scoop of the flesh and add to the blender.
- Add the mint leaaves, spinach, pitted dates,milk and icecubes.
- Blend till smooth.
- Add the chocochip, and give a quick blitz.
- Serve in tall glasses, immediately.
