Butter fruit ( Avocado) lassi

Lassi with avocado
Lassi is a favourite summer treat. Made with natural yoghurt and often a fruit and flavoured by cardamon or saffron lassi is one of the best dense shakes in the world.
One of the key ingredients to a good quality lassi is the whole milk based natural yoghurt. The full fat is the one that makes this drink ever so popular. Most lighter versions of the lassi will not forever give you that perfect satisfaction and creaminess you are looking for.
Then whats the alternative, the healthy creaminess from the avocado and the low fat churned traditional buttermilk. Now buttermilk that I mean is the natural low-fat yoghurt from which butter has been further churned out and then thinned out.
I have earlier discussed the variations of the buttermilk and cultured milk in this post which also incorporates buttermilk
The advantage of this combination is that you will never miss the creaminess yet you don’t feel guilty about the calories. Kind of a win-win situation.
Avocado, the good fat fruit, otherwise called the butter fruit is creamy and delicious and at the same time doesn’t carry much of a flavour of its own helping it to blend and imbibe the flavours added to it. Hence it is a well-known addition to salads, smoothies, guacamole and toast.
The adaptability of an avocado and the goodness of buttermilk combined makes this delectable preparation so welcoming and healthy.  You can add some mango, mint or some blueberries too if you may enjoy it. Enjoy the recipe and do let us know what you think.

Here are a few more from the avocado series
I had recently done, Sparkling blueberry lemonade as a guest post for a Evergreen Dishes. Enjoy this delicious summer drink too, do try it out. It is a perfect summer evening drink.
