As we adapt to changes, get yourself a chocolate banana strawberry sandwich and sit with your children to have a moment. It makes an incredible difference to you and them as you bite through the soft and delicious fruit sandwich.
My house at this moment doesn’t particularly look inviting. We have home-schooling on, work from home at the best WiFi spots, music stands out, home projects, jigsaws and more. Forget the laundry, the incessant cooking and the pile of vessels that never seem to end. It certainly is messy and chaotic, yet functional. It annoys me a lot!!
Have you taken a look at our Instagram page?
It was a recent conversation with a colleague that actually made me think that these may be the least of my concerns. We are all in a situation we have no clue how to handle. The new normals mean no parenting guides will work and no teen expectations are going to be real. I feel for all the young ones!! At an age when friends, fast food and movies would have ruled the world, they are stuck in their little bubbles. Sure interaction at home improves, but it is not what we have seen for any of our young ones. There is a lot of reality to deal with, a lot of rapid information and ever-changing guidelines to adhere to. Can you as a parent guide them through? Come on, we are grappling with the new information ourselves and learning new ideas to try to handle it!!
Life has certainly changed, yours, mine and theirs!!
Ever since last week, I have been thinking about these sudden changes in life. I don’t have answers. I guess it deserves a bit of sweetening it up this Monday. Pretty much, that’s all I can do right now for them. So, here are some of the best things put together as one grilled strawberry sandwich
Ingredients to make this grilled sandwich
Though not too many good fruits are the base of this sandwich.
Bread: Whole wheat bread slices taste great with this sandwich. You can also try milk bread or brioche bread if you like. I have used whole wheat bread to make this recipe.
Fruit: For this recipe fruits like bananas, berries, apples and pears are all suitable. I have chosen the sweet sugar bananas with tart strawberries for this recipe
Chocolate: Good quality dark chocolate or dark chocolate chips are best for this recipe as they sit well with the sweetness of the banana.
Peanut butter: The combination of peanut butter with fruits is delightful. Also, it adds a bit of protein to the dessert-style sandwich.
Let’s make the grilled sandwich
Making this easy fruit sandwich just takes a couple of steps
Prep the fruits: Wash and peel the Banana and thinly slice it. Slice the strawberries and set them aside.
Prep the bread slices: Melt the chocolate in the microwave. You need 3 bread slices for this sandwich. Apply the melted chocolate on one side of each of the two slices. On the third slice apply peanut butter on both sides.
Grill the sandwich: Set the grill and apply butter or vegan butter. On the chocolate side of one piece of bread place the banana slices, then the peanut butter-coated bread, followed by the strawberry slices. Lastly cover with the remaining slice, chocolate side inside. Place on the grill and press and grill till the sandwich turns aromatic with the grill marks.
The recipe card below gives you the step-by-step details of this sandwich. Hope you like making some.

Earlier we did a collection of ideas for dessert tea sandwiches. This grilled strawberry sandwich recipe, however, really needed its own place. It is one that is going to take care of all the worries. It will take care of the hungry tummies with simple lemon sherbet. Make one for yourself, it is great to calm your nerves (certainly broke my chain of thought). For now, I am going to sink my teeth into this yumminess. You stay safe, stay protected.
See you at the next post.
